About the role

We are seeking a Director of the Psychiatry and Addiction Services area for a permanent position. The Psychiatry of Kymenlaakso provides hospital-level examination, care and rehabilitation for residents of all ages. The services include four adult psychiatry wards and a youth psychiatry ward as well as general psychiatric services. We also treat opioid-dependent patients in Kouvola, Hamina and Kotka, and our services include low-threshold health advisory points. In the role, you will have broad influence on the development, access, quality and impact of psychiatric and addiction services across the Kymenlaakso region. You will be responsible for the operations of the area and will lead operations under the regional board and other bodies under the head of the sector. Your work includes occasional patient work and possibility of on-call duties. Responsibilities include: leading the area’s operations and strategic development; responsible for planning, finances and achieving targets; risk management and internal control; leading staff development and collaboration; providing statements concerning the area; approving area contracts and commitments in accordance with the administrative rules; working closely with the regional leadership, supervisors and partners; and taking on tasks designated by the regional director or sector head. Desirable: experience leading psychiatry and/or addiction services; leadership training or other advanced leadership qualifications; experience in finance and change management; track record of service development and improving impact; excellent interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills.
