ICT Operations Manager

The role is diverse and practical, in a central position ensuring the smooth delivery of municipal services. ICT environments have been outsourced. Key tasks include collaboration with the ICT service provider, coordinating service requests and changes, monitoring service quality and functionality, and conveying municipal needs to suppliers. Responsibilities also cover maintenance and development of systems and services, acting as a contact person towards vendors, participating in deployments and development projects, and developing digital solutions for the municipality. In school environments, daily ICT support is provided to teachers, pupils, and students in basic education and upper secondary. Quick response to ICT challenges in teaching situations, Abitti2 system management and technical implementation, building and testing examination networks, and ensuring readiness for disturbances during exams. Management of student devices (iPad, Chromebook, school laptops), users and environments, and ensuring main administration role and operational reliability of teaching systems, with contingency response during outages. Supporting the municipality’s staff in information security and data protection, including drafting guidelines and advising staff. Other listed duties include inventory and license management for municipal equipment, centralized handling of copiers and phones, regular ICT support for residents, a focus on on-site work, and a shift towards future planning. The ICT services for the municipality are provided by Meita Oy. Future planning and implementation will enable you to contribute to change initiatives.
