Secondary School Teacher

Vantaa City, in the Department of Growth and Learning, Basic Education, Länsimäen School, Vuontiskero 11, 01280 Vantaa. The position is temporary from 21 September 2026 to 31 December 2027. We are seeking a development-oriented and diverse Finnish language teacher for Finnish language and literature and Finnish as a second language for grades 7–9, including class teacher duties for grade 7. The school is located in eastern Vantaa with good transport links, serving the Länsimäen, Rajakylän and Vaarala areas. About 700 pupils in years 5–9, supported by about 60 teachers and 19 teaching assistants/attendants, with a focus on student well-being, multilingual guidance, and strong cooperation with local partners. The work emphasizes student-centered learning, flexible teaching arrangements, and collaborative planning. The teaching staff collaborates with a small school library and nearby public library, and Finnish language teaching is valued. The role includes Finnish language and literature instruction for 7th–9th grade and 7th grade homeroom duties. Remuneration supplements for staff who teach non-Finnish mother-tongue pupils can amount to 165.20 EUR/month. Interviews in week 38 with possible start during the application period.
