Social Care Worker

Omatilapalvelua is provided to residents of the Western Uusimaa welfare region. In Omatila you will work in a unique service unit of the welfare region with adults who have experienced intimate partner violence and with women who are in abusive relationships. In Omatila there are seven social care workers, a leading social worker and an coordinator for intimate partner violence work. Clients are adults and children with diverse life situations. In your client meetings you will offer psychosocial support, help clients recognise the impacts of intimate partner violence, support them to cope and recover from experiences, and aid in leaving violent relationships. Client work is mainly conducted in person at the office; remote sessions via Lunna video can be arranged as needed. Your duties include answering calls during the “Omatila Guidance and Counseling Days” weekdays 8:00–15:30, conducting initial assessments, and guiding clients to safety in acute situations. You will also provide guidance to other services the client may need, and participate in multidisciplinary network cooperation. We also perform MARAK-model-based risk assessments of severe intimate partner violence. The Omatila office is located in Espoon Matinkylä near Iso Omena; services are also offered in Karjaa and Lohja twice weekly. The work location includes Espoo address: Lähisuhde- ja perheväkivaltatyön yksikkö Omatila, Pyyntitie 3, 02230, Espoo. Working time is 38 h 15 min per week with flexible hours. The position is fixed-term from 5 Oct 2026 to 31 Aug 2027. Qualifications: social welfare professional competence per the act 817/2015 §8. Experience in intimate partner violence work and knowledge of the phenomenon. Applicants may be asked for a drug test per the regional program.
