About the role

Are you passionate about machined parts and sheet metal? We are looking for new mechanical designers to complement Enginery’s design team in the Helsinki metropolitan area. About Enginery Enginery is a domestic, modern, employee-owned engineering consultancy focusing on people’s well-being. We work as a partner to various industrial companies, providing expert and consultancy services, much of which involves demanding technical design. We operate across industries including marine, mineral processing, and paper industries, and we participate in green transition and renewable energy projects. Our client projects range from long-term product development to fast-paced delivery projects. We currently employ around 60 mechanical, electrical, and automation design professionals. Enginery people share a passion for engineering and a desire to help our customers succeed. Our cornerstones are high standards, flexibility, and skill development. What you’ll do as a mechanical designer Your tasks focus on project design and product development for industrial machines and equipment. Our designers work across the lifecycle—from concept to commissioning—on designing, modelling, and documenting industrial machines and systems. You’ll influence which projects and equipment you work on, with demand across both developing more experienced and more junior designers. You’ll participate from concept and preliminary design to commissioning. You’ll be responsible for mechanical design of projects throughout their lifecycle and collaborate closely with electrical/automation designers and end customers. When you wish, you can participate in testing and commissioning of the machines and automation centers you design. We primarily use CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, and Vertex. What we expect from you - Technical education in mechanical engineering or equivalent (engineer or DI) - Experience in mechanical design - Willingness to work with clients on varied projects - A desire to contribute to building a high-quality, communal engineering office Why join our community? We value a working culture where work is enjoyable. Employee well-being is a top priority. Our operating culture is based on freedom and responsibility, with each employee responsible for themselves and their work, while also having the freedom to influence many aspects, such as working hours and location, and desired client projects. Our renovated Helsinki-Käpylä office offers good transport links. The office provides energising beverages and healthy snacks, and after work you can relax in our private landscape sauna. On weekends the facilities can be used for private gatherings, sauna evenings, or family celebrations. We offer the following employment benefits: - Choice of work devices: company phone (€1500 value), noise-cancelling headphones (Bose/Sony), and a home-office equipment budget (€1000) to smooth remote work days. - Remote work and flexibility: we aim to work where each employee feels it is best and most efficient. Product development and project work sometimes require on-site work at client sites or production facilities, but remote work is possible for most staff. - Sports & culture benefit: €400 per year with no deductible, can be used for dental care or massage as well. - Company boat (Buster Magnum) and jet ski (Sea-Doo GTI) for enjoying Helsinki’s seaside. - Community: quarterly events, annual autumn trip, company soccer and floorball teams. - Company-wide bonus program. For more details about our employee benefits and salary table, see our careers pages. If you’re curious about mechanical design life at Enginery, please apply through the application form. We review applications continuously and aim to respond as soon as possible. Our recruitment process consists of two parts: first we get to know you, then we focus on your technical abilities.
