About the Role We are seeking a talented and innovative AGV & AMR Software Engineer to join leading automation and robotics projects across the Benelux region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing software solutions for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) used in logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution environments. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in autonomous navigation, fleet management, industrial communications, and robotics software development. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for AGV and AMR systems. Develop navigation, localization, path-planning, and obstacle avoidance algorithms. Integrate AGV/AMR systems with customer WMS, WCS, MES, ERP, and automation platforms. Configure and optimize fleet management software for multi-robot environments. Troubleshoot software, communication, and system performance issues. Participate in commissioning and deployment activities at customer sites. Support simulation, validation, and performance testing of autonomous systems. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including controls engineers, system architects, project managers, and customers. Ensure solutions meet functional, safety, and operational requirements. Document software designs, development activities, and technical solutions. Provide technical support and training to end users and operational teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in robotics, AGV, AMR, industrial automation, or autonomous systems. Strong programming experience in: C++ Python Java (desirable) C# (.NET) (advantageous) Experience with robotic frameworks such as: ROS / ROS2 OpenCV Navigation and Mapping frameworks Understanding of: SLAM technologies Path planning algorithms Localization systems Machine vision Sensor fusion Technical Skills Robotics & Navigation AGV and AMR software development Fleet management systems Autonomous navigation SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) LiDAR integration Camera-based navigation Safety system integration Industrial Communication TCP/IP OPC UA MQTT REST APIs Profinet EtherCAT Modbus TCP Software Development Object-oriented programming Real-time systems CI/CD practices Git version control Software testing and debugging Cloud & Data (Preferred) Azure AWS Docker Kubernetes Edge computing architectures Preferred Experience Experience working with leading AGV/AMR solutions such as: KUKA KMP MiR Omron Geek+ Locus Robotics AutoStore Vanderlande Swisslog Dematic KNAPP Experience integrating robotics solutions within: Warehousing Distribution centres Manufacturing plants E-commerce fulfilment operations Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch, French, or German language skills are advantageous. Ability to work independently and within international project teams.
