Finance Director

Finance Director for the City of Porvoo leads the city’s finance and funding functions within the konsernipalvelut unit, acting as a senior executive and member of the city’s management team. The role oversees financial control, capital procurement, liquidity, budgeting, reporting, procurement and internal audit, and coordinates welfare & health, sustainable development and strategy execution. The position is part of the executive leadership team and serves as second in command to the city administrator, with a key role in ownership policy and group-company governance. The ideal candidate holds a relevant higher university degree and strong written and spoken skills in one official language and good speaking skills in the other, with proven leadership experience in public sector finance, budgeting, procurement and corporate operations. Proficiency in English is advantageous. Successful applicants communicate effectively, are development-minded team players and leadership partners, and are not afraid to roll up sleeves. Salary follows municipal pay scales; applicants may state their own salary expectations. Working hours are 36.25 per week. A health statement is required before appointment, and a six-month probation applies. Security clearance may be conducted for the chosen candidate.
