Work with residents with disabilities is at its best when it means genuine human encounters, making everyday life easier, enabling people to do things and bringing them joy. Every employee contributes to well-being and helps strengthen the value of life. A new residential unit for disability services in Kuopio Humana’s Kipinä residential unit for disability services was completed at the end of 2025, and the first residents have moved into their new homes. The unit consists of a new building that provides enhanced supported housing. Through your contribution, you will help make everyday life work for each resident. Residents receive the best possible support, can live in a way that reflects their own preferences, and enjoy an active, communal everyday life. At Kipinä, every resident is treated as an individual. The facilities were designed with residents’ comfort, safety and accessible movement in mind. Their particular needs were the starting point for the design of the home. Kipinä is a safe home for residents and a good place for staff to work. The physical environment supports success at work. What will your work be like? As the unit’s registered nurse, you will be responsible for medication management, care contacts and residents’ health matters, and act as a healthcare expert. You will take part in nursing care and guidance, and develop and implement new working practices together with the rest of the work community. The nurse’s role in our unit carries considerable responsibility, but you certainly will not have to work alone. Your everyday support will include the rest of the team, the service supervisor and the unit manager. Everyday life at Kipinä also involves developing routines so they work for each resident. Residents receive the best possible support and can live in a way that reflects their own preferences, enjoying an active and communal everyday life. The whole team aims to create a positive everyday environment in which routines set the rhythm of work without leaving creativity behind. The registered nurse works shifts, mainly on weekdays and morning shifts. The position is permanent and full-time. The work starts by agreement in January 2027. Pay Pay for the position is €2,811.09–€3,071.09 per month, depending on your previous relevant experience. Shift-work supplements under the collective agreement for private social services are paid on top of the salary. What kind of person are we looking for? We expect you to have a Bachelor of Health Care (UAS) qualification as a registered nurse, medication-management skills, vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act, and a genuine interest in working with our client groups. Experience in disability services is an advantage. MAPA or Avekki training, or knowledge and understanding of demanding client situations, is also considered an advantage. To succeed in the role, you need an open mind and enthusiasm for developing yourself and your work. We hope you have good planning, organisational, teamwork and interpersonal skills, and a positive, encouraging and flexible approach. Please note that the selected candidate must provide the criminal record extract required for people working with persons with disabilities under section 6(2) of the Criminal Records Act. The selected person must also have obtained a social and healthcare professional card by the start of employment. Why take this opportunity? As a Humana employee, you are entitled to comprehensive occupational healthcare. Humana’s Epassi sports, culture and well-being benefit is worth €400 per year, subject to meeting the working-time condition. You can use it for, for example, theatre tickets, a gym membership or a visit to a dental hygienist. Humana is an employer that takes responsibility for values. We strongly believe in our ability to contribute positively to people and society. We are proud of our values: commitment, responsibility, human encounter and joy.
