We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled early childhood education social worker development officer at Laajavuoren Daycare, part of Jokiuoma unit in Vantaa. The daycare serves three groups and operates with parallel leadership, where one manager handles staff and another handles pedagogy. The unit participates in ProVaka development activities (positive group-based learning). The role focuses on promoting community spirit, child well-being, participation and a safe environment, with emphasis on anti-bullying, supporting emotional and peer skills, and parental support and development. You will participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and, when needed, guide families to other child and family services. Core responsibilities include implementing early childhood education, planning, delivering, and evaluating unit activities; welfare work and supporting social and peer skills, well-being, growth, and development; interaction and collaboration with families and guardians as well as professional communication within the team; evaluating and developing operating practices from a social-pedagogical perspective, and promoting participation and well-being with staff. Requirements include knowledge of the early childhood education plan and the Early Childhood Education Act, collaboration skills, experience supporting child social and peer development and parental strengths and challenges, experience with early childhood education methods, well-being, growth and development, an independent and developmental approach, ability to promote communal and inclusive practices, and strong written and spoken Finnish.
