Practical Nurse, welcome to work at the substance abuse detoxification and rehabilitation unit! The unit consists of two wards and we are now recruiting a practical nurse for detoxification ward 5. All employees move between wards 1 and 5 as needed. The detoxification wards of the substance abuse services treat adult patients who need round-the-clock care to detoxify from substance use. In addition, the wards treat patients of medical rehabilitation. The purpose of detoxification treatment is to stop long-term substance use, treat withdrawal symptoms and create a basis for rehabilitation. We implement alcohol, drug and medication detoxifications, starts and terminations of opioid substitution treatments and changes of substitution drugs. The treatment period is 3-14 days depending on the need for treatment. The ward operates with closed doors, but the treatment is based on voluntariness. Treatment is implemented within the framework of recovery orientation. The work is fast-paced acute substance abuse nursing work. The duties of a practical nurse on the detoxification ward include, among other things, preparing care plans in cooperation with the patient and the doctor, implementing care according to the care plan and medication. The wards work multidisciplinarily. The primary task of the ward is the high-quality treatment of withdrawal symptoms and motivation for sobriety. We are now looking for an active, self-motivated practical nurse with good cooperation and interaction skills for a permanent employment relationship starting 1.10.2026 or by agreement. In the units, work is carried out in three shifts every day of the year. Interviews will start during the application period. We require registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority (Valvira). Good oral and satisfactory written skills in Finnish. The person selected for the position must present a certificate regarding a drug test to the employer before the employment relationship begins. Before the selection decision, the applicant must present an assessment from occupational health care on their ability to perform the tasks included in the work. Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act is required in the position. Successful completion of the LOP/LOVe LOP medication permit is required in the position by the end of the probationary period at the latest.
