We are looking for a teacher for social and health care degrees for a permanently valid hourly teacher position starting September 15, 2026. At the start of the official relationship, the position is located at the Teollisuuskatu site. The most central part of your work is nursing teaching as well as student guidance and assessment work in the social and health care vocational qualification. The teacher is responsible for preparing and monitoring the students' personal competence development plan (HOKS). Teaching and assessment of demonstrations take place in different learning environments. Work is done in teams and in various cooperation networks, especially with working life. A social and health care teacher must master extensive nursing competence areas and be able to apply diverse pedagogical methods. The recruitment process is multi-stage. After the application period, some applicants will be sent a link to a video interview. After this, some applicants will be invited to a group interview, which will be held at Teollisuuskatu 23. The final stage of the application is an individual interview. Eligibility requirements: Eligibility and language requirements are determined by the provisions of sections 13 a and 17 of Decree 986/1998 on the eligibility requirements for teaching. A person is eligible if they: 1) have completed a suitable higher university degree, pedagogical studies for teachers of at least 60 ECTS / 35 credit hours, and have three years of practical work experience in tasks most closely corresponding to the content of the teaching task; or 2) have completed a suitable university of applied sciences degree, pedagogical studies for teachers of at least 60 ECTS / 35 credit hours, and have at least five years of practical work experience in social and health care tasks corresponding to the higher education degree. In addition, acting in a teacher's position requires that the person providing the teaching has the right to practice the profession of health care or social care as a licensed professional. Your degree as a nursing teacher could be, for example, a Registered Nurse (AMK/YAMK) or a Master of Health Sciences. Required teacher eligibility, degree, subjects taught (ECTS/credit hours), and pedagogical studies must be clarified as detailed as possible. The applicant must demonstrate by a medical certificate that they are healthy enough for the position if selected. The person appointed to the official relationship must provide a criminal record extract as referred to in the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). Work experience in nursing for the disabled is required in the position. Versatile nursing expertise is considered an advantage. In addition, we consider knowledge of versatile and up-to-date pedagogical methods as an advantage. If you have completed your degree outside of Finland, you need a degree recognition decision from the Finnish National Agency for Education by the end of the application period.
