Electronics Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a Dispatcher for Helsinki Fire Department Electronics Maintenance appointed as a permanent civil service position starting 1 November 2026 in the Emergency and Continuity Unit within the Maintenance and Readiness service. The role involves acting as an expert in electronics maintenance within a team that includes a direct supervisor, four electronics maintenance technicians, and a communications planner. The electronics maintenance function covers a wide range of systems including station access technologies, annunciation systems, vehicle radio and communications installations, public warning devices, authorities’ communications devices and more within management systems. You will participate in various projects bringing your expertise as an expert, and you will continue to be the technical lead for different rescue service systems and collaborate extensively with authorities networks. Your supervisor is the unit chief and you report to them; you will work closely with a project manager who handles scheduling and leadership of projects. The role requires self-management skills, adherence to schedules, experience in communications/electronics maintenance, strong interpersonal and IT skills, the ability to act in rapidly changing situations, and a structured, solution-oriented work approach. We value being self-motivated and proactive. Required qualifications include a suitable university degree, J-suffix driving license (B), and strong Finnish language skills both spoken and written. Desirable qualifications include experience from rescue services, expert tasks, electronics/communication maintenance experience, experience with authorities’ cooperation and practical understanding of radio communications. Start date is 1 November 2026 or by agreement. Six-month probation and HYVTES collective agreement apply. Before starting, you must consent to a security clearance under the Security Clearance Act (726/2014) and pass a drug test in line with the City of Helsinki personnel policy. The workplace is primarily at Kallio Fire Station, but work covers all locations of the fire department.
