Software Designer

We are looking for a software designer (senior / designer) to strengthen our product development team. The work location is at our offices in Oulu or Jyväskylä. In the role you will work on vehicle systems, night vision devices, smart sights, target location devices and other optronic solutions, covering embedded Linux programming from user interfaces and application logic to kernel and driver levels. Your work includes software testing and you will actively participate in architectural decision making. Technologies used are primarily C, C++ and Qt, and you will have the chance to contribute across a cross‑disciplinary team combining optics, mechanics, electronics and signal processing. You can significantly influence product software architecture and technical choices. Requirements include strong technical competence in embedded software development and Linux environments; solid C/C++ and Qt skills; ability to work from UI level to kernel/driver implementations; experience with software architectures, software testing and version control; proactive working style and good collaboration skills; a degree from a university of applied sciences (AMK), DI or master. We also value experience in demanding product development projects where performance, reliability and real‑time requirements are central. Nice‑to‑have areas include: signal processing, computer vision, image and video processing, vehicle networks/environments, applying AI, software development processes and tools, software testing methods.
