Export Specialist

Kieppi Sawmill Oy’s Kieppi sawmill operates in Mäntyharju, South Savo, in the middle of beautiful Lake Finland, close to extensive forest resources and in a good logistical location. More than 80% of the sawmill’s production is exported to the construction joinery industry, the interior products industry and various construction products. Sawn timber is exported to Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Far East. Domestic customers are log-house factories, thermal wood manufacturers and the packaging industry. The company has long traditions: sawmill operations have been at the same location for almost 100 years. We are hiring an EXPORT SPECIALIST for a permanent position to manage order-to-delivery processes for timber exports and domestic deliveries. In the role, you will work closely with sales and the rest of the organisation. Through your work, you will help ensure that the customer promise is fulfilled as agreed and on time. We work in a small team, and information flow between people in different roles, including within the organisation, is essential for effective cooperation. Your duties - Preparing, scheduling and carrying out delivery plans, and managing customer and partner relationships. - Payment transactions, documentation and customs-related tasks, freight documents, purchase and sales invoices, and customs clearances. - Arranging and tracking transport, working with logistics partners, optimising transport schedules and costs, and resolving problems. - Customer and partner cooperation and communication: identifying customer needs, providing service, and sharing and reporting information internally and externally. - Coordinating inventory and deliveries, scheduling deliveries, and monitoring stock levels. - Ensuring quality and compliance, including meeting the requirements of international and local export regulations and standards, and certification. What we expect from you - At least five years of experience in responsible logistics roles; a relevant university of applied sciences degree is also preferred. - Strong expertise in export processes and logistics solutions. - Motivation for practical, hands-on work. - Teamwork skills. - Resilience under pressure and the ability to work independently and solve problems. - Expertise in the letter-of-credit process. - Good spoken and written Finnish and English; other language skills are considered an advantage.
