Early Childhood Education Teacher

We are now looking for an early childhood education teacher for an Ope+ role at Pilke Hohto, a physical-activity-focused daycare centre in Kivistö, Vantaa. The work begins in January 2027. Pilke Hohto is a daycare centre with good transport connections that opened in August 2018. The centre focuses on physical activity, aiming to support children’s physical activity in everyday daycare life, strengthen their interest in exercise and an active lifestyle, and teach them to relate to their bodies and surroundings in a healthy and safe way. The atmosphere at Hohto is safe, warm and open. We consider it important to meet children individually without rushing, listen to them, and offer closeness and comfort. We are genuinely present for the children and for one another. Our educators have a strong sense of community, which is reflected in the children and creates a gentle atmosphere at the daycare. We want to create everyday life in which children can express all their emotions and feel safe every day. Would you like your work to influence the pedagogy of the entire unit and the lives and early years of many children? In this new Ope+ role, you will work as an early childhood education teacher in a group and will also be responsible for pedagogical development tasks concerning the entire unit. As an early childhood education teacher in the Ope+ role, you will support and promote children’s growth, development and learning. You will understand the contents of early childhood education plans and know how to put them into practice. You will plan, evaluate and develop the pedagogical activities of the unit or the entire daycare centre, and together with the leadership team you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality pedagogy at your unit. You have a strong pedagogical approach, a positive and active attitude, good interaction skills and the ability to engage genuinely with children. Another teacher in an Ope+ role also works at our centre, so you can share your tasks with another professional.
