Production Supervisor

We are seeking an area production supervisor for a ferrochromium plant. The supervisor will be an integral part of the area’s staff and act as a front-line supervisor for daytime staff within the area. You will be responsible for people management, maintaining the condition and performance of equipment, and executing daily maintenance activities in alignment with production, quality, and environmental goals. Your duties include defining and prioritising maintenance work for your area and planning the workforce for the area’s production organization. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient raw and production materials and maintaining appropriate stock levels, and participating in the procurement process. Together with your team you will carry out safety- and production-supporting activities and proactive maintenance, respond to equipment failures and operation deviations, participate in maintenance shutdowns and maintenance tasks, and contribute to organizational development. Additionally, as the area supervisor you will support cooperation between different Cr-Fe plant production areas. The role includes short-term replacements in shift supervision and the supervision team. Core areas of excellence are high-quality supervision and ownership thinking of the production process. Success in the role requires a proactive, exemplary attitude toward safety, initiative, organizational and problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities to motivate subordinates to develop new operating methods and commit to the work. We also expect you to have teamwork ability and the desire to succeed through collaboration, and to understand the integration of workplace well-being and goal-oriented leadership with tolerance for workplace diversity. You should be motivated to develop yourself and your team, supported by good interpersonal and collaborative skills. Suitable education, e.g. engineer, technician, or Outokumpu supervision training, and strong Finnish and English language skills. Beneficial factors include prior successful supervision experience, experience with continuous improvement processes (5S, LEAN, etc.), and knowledge of information systems, e.g. SAP PM.
