Lead Cloud Developer - Country Compliance: Basware seeks a senior software engineer to build country-specific capabilities connecting invoices to government tax portals. Responsibilities include system design, performance, security, code reviews, mentoring, CI/CD and AI practices. Requirements include 10+ years of experience, Java 17+ and Spring Boot, AI-assisted coding, XML/XSD processing, MongoDB, OAuth2/JWT, AWS, and multi-region design. Nice-to-have include Peppol/EN16931 familiarity and digital signatures. On-site in Chandigarh, India.

Responsibilities
- Own system design and software architecture decisions for country compliance modules, from new mandate onboarding through to production.
- Drive non-functional requirements: throughput and latency under load, secure handling of certificates, tokens and secrets, fault tolerance and graceful degradation against unreliable third-party government APIs.
- Lead code and design reviews and set the architectural conventions the team builds against.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on design thinking, technical depth and code quality.
- Champion CI/CD, TDD and AI-assisted engineering practices across the team.
- Participate in incident response and drive root cause fixes for production issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience with prior technical leadership.
- Strong Java (17+) and Spring Boot, REST API design and implementation.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding techniques and reviewing AI-generated code.
- XML/XSD processing at scale, secure parsing and schema validation.
- MongoDB or comparable NoSQL databases.
- OAuth2, JWT, API security, secrets management.
- AWS cloud architecture across compute, storage, networking, IAM and observability; cloud-native deployment.
- System design and software architecture for scale, multi-tenant and multi-region variation.
- CI/CD and Test-Driven Development experience.
- Mentor engineers on technical depth and non-functional thinking.
- Excellent communication skills.
