General Practitioner in Student Health Services

We are now seeking a GENERAL PRACTITIONER IN STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES. For our Jyväskylä service point, we offer a permanent full-time position (38 hours and 15 minutes per week), starting by agreement during the latter part of 2026. The work can be performed at the service point or partly remotely. The position may be full-time or part-time—tell us what you prefer! Typical reasons for appointments among our client group include mental health, skin conditions, musculoskeletal symptoms, infections and sexual health. All students come to appointments through an assessment of their care needs. We use the BeeHealthy digital platform, and general practitioners’ work also includes remote appointments and consultations through the platform’s chat. We offer you comprehensive orientation, support from colleagues and your supervisor, good consultation opportunities, the opportunity to participate in a mentoring programme, training to support the development of your expertise, and the opportunity to tailor your role. For employment terms and pay, we follow the agreement between YTHS and the Finnish Medical Association. The monthly salary range for our general practitioners is €6,668–€7,348 and for our specialist physicians €7,410–€8,167. Monthly pay may include a personal salary component of 6–24%. Medical certificates and statements are paid according to the collective agreement. We look after our employees. Our occupational health services are comprehensive. Work at YTHS may count as six months toward specialist training in general practice (YEK). We expect you to have a Licentiate of Medicine or specialist physician qualification and the right, licensed by Valvira, to practise as a healthcare professional. We also value good interpersonal skills. In addition to Finnish, good English and adequate Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
