About the role

We are hiring an Early Childhood Education Teacher for a group of 3–5-year-olds at Aurinkokiven Daycare in Vantaa. The role involves building the group’s operating culture and learning environment, planning, implementing, developing and evaluating pedagogical activities in accordance with the Vantaa early childhood education and preschool plan and the unit’s action plan. The successful candidate should have excellent teamwork and communication skills, be sensitive to each child’s individual needs, and be able to work collaboratively in a multi-professional setting. The unit emphasizes child friendship and emotional skills, child participation, and warm interactions with children and parents. The workplace culture is developed on evidence-based practices (ProVaka model) to support children's social skills, and staff are expected to follow its principles together with the rest of the team. There are clear management structures, and opportunities to participate in unit leadership discussions. A multi-disciplinary early childhood special education teacher supports you in child support matters. The employer offers a communal, relaxed, and dedicated atmosphere, and you will be part of a community that values well-being and professional growth. The day care is located in Kivistö with good transport links; five child groups operate there, along with an open meeting place and activity club. The day care hub also houses a school, student health services, maternity/child health clinic, music school, and art school. We invite applicants who are fluent in Finnish in writing and speaking. Apply via our recruitment system; interviews may be conducted during the application window, and decisions may be made as soon as a suitable candidate is found. Why Vantaa? We are a bold, relaxed employer offering an open work climate and a willingness to try new methods, with a broad multidisciplinary support network and strong emphasis on equality and inclusion. We offer support for professional development, health and well-being programs, and a range of employee benefits including sports/culture, lunch, and public transport subsidies. The city provides access to leisure facilities and culture events at discounted prices. You will be part of a community dedicated to employee well-being and development, with opportunities to influence through leadership groups. The job requires good Finnish language skills (written and spoken). Salary: 3129.46–3234.53 EUR/month, plus monthly increments for certain qualifications and years of experience. The position is full-time and temporary with a 2-month probationary period.
