Data Center Business Development Manager

Airwave is recruiting a Data Center Business Development Manager for its partner Airwave Oy to build Midea Building Technologies’ (MBT) data center business in Finland and later throughout the Nordic region. ABOUT THE ROLE As Data Center Business Development Manager, you will build long-term relationships with data center operators and developers, consultants, design firms, contractors and other key players in the sector. You will identify new business and project opportunities and build a strong sales pipeline for the years ahead. You will actively work to ensure that Midea’s solutions are considered during the design, specification and tender stages of new data center projects. You will work closely with Airwave’s Finnish team, the Baltic organisation and Midea’s international data center experts. The successful candidate will be employed by Airwave Oy while also serving as an integral member of Midea’s MBT team, developing the data center business in Finland and throughout the Nordic region. The role receives strong, direct support from Midea’s international sales and technology organisation, including support with solution design, project development and customer collaboration. It combines Airwave’s local market expertise and presence with Midea’s global knowledge, product portfolio and resources. The first-year objectives are to establish a credible position for Midea in the Finnish and Nordic data center market, build a strong project pipeline and initiate the first strategic reference projects. You will report to Airwave’s Baltic Business Director. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU A relevant higher education degree, for example in engineering, energy technology, building services, IT or business. Experience in a Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Strategic Account Manager or comparable commercial role. Experience in data centers, HVAC, cooling, energy, electrical infrastructure or critical infrastructure. A track record in technical B2B solution sales and project sales. Understanding of project-based sales and complex decision-making processes. Experience working with customers, consultants, designers, contractors and other stakeholders. The ability to identify new business opportunities and develop a sales pipeline over the long term. Excellent Finnish skills at native-speaker level. Fluent English for working in an international environment. Willingness to travel in Finland and the Nordic countries. Previous experience with data center projects, an existing network among industry stakeholders, and knowledge of data center cooling or critical infrastructure solutions are considered clear advantages. You will succeed if you are motivated by finding new business opportunities and developing markets. You are proactive, goal-oriented and entrepreneurial, and enjoy an environment where not everything has already been built. You can build trust with customers, partners and other stakeholders and develop long-term relationships in varied settings. You combine strong commercial thinking with technical understanding and can discuss both business and technical solutions credibly.
