The Design Manager leads the project design team, consisting of engineers, designers, and support staff to produce design deliverables and support construction in accordance with the contract. The Design Manager ensures the overall project design and production process is conducted following the prescribed Company processes and procedures and is in accordance with the project budget and schedule. He/she ensures the project follows the basis of design by performing inter-disciplinary quality, coordination and space management reviews via weekly reviews with project teams. The role enforces a strict change management process in accordance with project budget and schedule and executes the Project Execution Plan (PEP) including updating the PEP and associated material as needed when project conditions change. The Design Manager confirms to the Project Manager adequate design and production resources are assigned to meet the project’s overall cost, quality and schedule commitments and ensures the forecast is current in MMS. The Design Manager is the single point of contact for all design-related issues internally and externally, representing the overall project in communications with the client and having final technical accountability for the overall project design and production (including managing consultants not managed under other disciplines). He/she oversees the Project VDC Coordination ensuring adequate hardware and software availability for project team including managing record drawings documentation, operation and maintenance manuals and hand over documentation. Other duties as assigned.
