The building inspector is the team’s immediate supervisor. Duties consist of varied maintenance, repair and new construction work at the water and sewerage plant, as well as property maintenance. The work also includes assisting with other technical department duties and, especially in winter, maintaining outdoor recreation areas. The work involves travelling around the municipality. Performing the duties requires at least a category B driving licence and the use of your own car. The work requires initiative. You will deputise for the water and sewerage plant operator during holidays, when you must be able to carry out water services duties reliably and independently and take responsibility for your work. You will deal frequently with customers and other municipal employees, requiring communication skills and a customer-service orientation. The duties are divided mainly 50% between water and sewerage plant work and 50% property maintenance. When the water and sewerage plant operator is absent, the duties also include operating and monitoring the wastewater treatment plant and operating and monitoring the waterworks. In winter, duties may include assisting the outdoor recreation area caretaker, for example making ski tracks with a snowmobile. The duties also include a rotating on-call shift for municipal properties and water and sewerage services. During on-call periods, you must be at a site in the municipal centre within 30 minutes’ notice. No education is required of the person selected, but education in property maintenance and/or HVAC is valued. Experience in water and sewerage infrastructure work and property maintenance is considered an advantage. We will provide appropriate induction and train the selected person for the role. We expect an enthusiastic, improvement-oriented approach, the ability to work independently and to take responsibility. Good cooperation and communication skills, as well as a flexible and cost-conscious service attitude, are also valued. The position has a six-month probationary period. It is classified in KT-TS pay group 1, pricing code 5 01 04 01 8. General working time is 38 hours 15 minutes per week (+ a 30-minute daily meal break). The position-specific salary is €2,548.80/month + allowances under KT-TS. The selected person must present a medical certificate concerning their health.
