The role primarily involves co-teaching and differentiated instruction for lower grades (3–6) with some teaching hours in upper grades focusing on health education and home economics. Martinlaakson koulu is a comprehensive school for grades 1–9 with about 1000 students and around 130 adults in the school community. The school is located in Martinlaakso with good transport connections, in a modern building equipped with up-to-date teaching tools. The aim is to be pedagogically unified, with collaboration between teachers to provide a coherent school journey from first grade through basic education. We develop our school according to the ProKoulu model, requiring applicants to commit to a child-centered approach. We value experience in simultaneous and differentiated instruction, the ability to work flexibly as part of a large multidisciplinary team, good interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to plan and organize one’s own work. We offer modern learning environments, up-to-date resources, and a supportive community; we also emphasize staff well-being and provide teacher mentors as needed. More information and recruitment process: the starting salary for staff who teach students whose mother tongue is not Finnish can be approx. 250 EUR/month extra salary.
