Early Years Teacher

Varhaiskasvatuksen opettaja role at Hollolan kunta. The position is a fixed-term early childhood teacher post in Kalliolan esiopetuksessa from 14.9 to 31.12.2026. You will implement high-quality education focused on play and pedagogy, collaborating with a professional early childhood education team. The teacher acts as the pedagogical expert for their group, creating everyday life where every child feels safe, learns, and grows. The work is collaborative, visible in multi-professional teamwork and active cooperation across all unit teams. The foundation is positive pedagogy and supporting the child’s holistic wellbeing, play skills, and connection with nature. We expect playfulness, child-centeredness, sensitivity and strong interaction skills, with a presence and enthusiastic approach that highlights child participation. Strong vocational skills in early childhood education and good teamwork are desired. Pre-school teaching is organized at Kalliola school as part of early-years activities in cooperation with grades 1–2 of basic education. The team includes a early childhood teacher, a class teacher, and as needed a teaching assistant and/or a school counsellor; a special education teacher is involved part-time. The activities are based on pre-school and basic education curricula. Work is activity-based and playful and occurs in small groups and learning environments designed to support child learning and development. Welcome to join us as an early years teacher! The qualification requirement is the valid competence according to the Vocational Qualification in Early Childhood Education Act 26§ and 75§. The selected candidate must provide a health certificate and a criminal background check as required by law. The working language is Finnish. A trial period applies according to OVTES.
