We are seeking a permanent Early Childhood Teacher starting 1 September 2026 at Havukallio Daycare. Havukallio sits in a nature-rich, forested residential area with good transport links. Our environment emphasizes nature as part of the learning space and we make use of the surrounding area in a versatile manner. The area’s multiculturalism enriches our daily work and brings different perspectives and cultures to our activities. Havukallio Daycare has five groups of children. The facilities have just been renovated, so you will work in newly refurbished rooms and help build functional and inspiring learning environments together with the rest of the staff. Our aim is to meet every child warmly and to ensure safe, joyful, and playful everyday life, treating each child as an individual, recognizing strengths, and encouraging and praising. Play is central to our activities, as is child participation, interests, and wonder. Our pedagogy emphasizes supporting emotional and social skills as well as language development. We want every child to have the opportunity to learn, try, and succeed in a safe atmosphere. Pedagogical support for the groups includes a broad specialist teacher for inclusive education and a development-focused teacher. Our practice also uses the ProVaka model (Positive group learning in early childhood). You will be part of a skilled team and receive strong support for your work. Our unit also hosts student teachers on field days, so you may mentor upcoming professionals if you wish. What we expect from you: a sensitive and warm approach to interacting with children, strong teamwork, flexibility, development-mindedness, and a commitment to high-quality pedagogy. You should have good Finnish speaking and writing skills. If you are cooperative, open, and motivated by development and want to work for the best interests of children with a competent team, you may be the candidate we are looking for. Applications are processed during the application period. The position may be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found, so please submit your application promptly. Why choose Vantaa?
