Early Childhood Education Director

The position is a permanent full-time director role for early childhood education in Lumijoki. The director reports to the director of education and is a member of the municipal management team. The duties include overall leadership, organization, development, evaluation and forecasting of early childhood education, as well as acting as the director of the daycare centers and being responsible for pedagogical, human resources, financial and administrative management in early childhood education. Tasks include developing the quality and operations of early childhood education, personnel management, budgeting and staffing planning, family service guidance, decision-making related to early childhood education, and preparation and implementation of sector matters. The director acts as a frontline supervisor for about 25 early childhood education staff, and also has supervisory duties in library, culture and leisure services, participates in wellbeing and health promotion work, and bears broad responsibility for wellbeing planning and reporting, as well as secretary duties for elder and disability councils and extensive collaboration with other municipal sectors and regional networks. The role combines strategic and administrative leadership with staff and financial responsibility and day-to-day operations, requiring the ability to manage multiple duties and cross-administrative cooperation.
