About the role

We are seeking a motivated and professional Early Childhood Social Worker Development Specialist for Laajavuoren päiväkoti in the Jokiuoman operating unit of Vantaa. The unit has three groups and operates under dual leadership with one director responsible for staff and another for pedagogy. The unit participates in ProVaka development work and is part of the Laajavuoren päiväkoti site. The role focuses on promoting the community, child well-being, participation, and a safe environment, with emphasis on preventing bullying, supporting social and peer skills, and supporting parenting and development. Responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating unit activities in early childhood education; welfare work and early identification of needs related to social skills, well-being, growth and development; collaboration with families and guardians and professional interactions within the team; evaluating and developing practices from a social-pedagogical perspective in cooperation with staff. Requirements include knowledge of the early childhood education plan and the Early Childhood Education Act, cooperation skills, experience with child social and peer development and parenting strengths and challenges, experience with early childhood education methods, well-being, growth and development; independent and developmental working approach; ability to promote inclusion and equality; proficiency in Finnish (written and spoken). The job involves working with one unit and a 37.5-hour work week, full-time, with a probationary period of half of the fixed term, and is based on the municipal collective agreement (KVTES).
