Ylivieska has nine elementary schools, one combined school, and one middle school. All elementary schools provide education for children in grades 1-6, and some also offer preschool education. The preschool education arrangements are decided annually based on applications. Kaisaniemi Middle School teaches grades 7-9. Taanila Combined School teaches grades 0-9. In Ylivieska, approximately 1,500 elementary school students attend, including preschoolers, and about 700 middle school students. As a substitute, you can specify your preferred schools where you are available. Longer-term and fixed-term substitutes are also applied for separately, so follow the open job positions of Ylivieska City. Applicants are responsible for updating their application and availability in the register. Keeping contact and availability information up to date is a prerequisite for being offered substitutes. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/98). Applicants who are formally unqualified are also considered. A criminal record extract as referred to in section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act must be presented if the total duration of substitutes exceeds three months within a year.
