A unique community and cultural setting in Mäntyharju, a municipality in Southern Savo with a population of just over 7,000 that swells in the summer. Mäntyharju is reachable from both the south and the north by train or car, and offers strong services, nature close by, and diverse hobbies. The position is for a substitute Finnish language and literature teacher for Mäntyharju High School for the period 5 October 2026 to 5 June 2027. Mäntyharju High School has about 110 students and is the largest upper secondary school outside of towns in Southern Savo. Students and teachers work well together. Teaching qualifications follow the regulations in the Decree on Qualifications of the Personnel in Education 986/1998. We value experience teaching in upper secondary, good command of the subjects, initiative, willingness to develop, good cooperation skills with staff and students, and strong ICT skills. Salary is in accordance with OVTES. For the coming academic year 2026–2027 the hours for the substitute Finnish language teacher will be exclusively high school teaching. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract regarding the confiscation of criminal history for work with children as required by law (504/2002). A four-month trial period applies.
