Communications Specialist

The Finnish posting describes a fixed-term position within Metsahallitus, in the corporate communications team, based in Rovaniem i, with some travel in Northern Finland. The role oversees youth communication across Northern Finland, including planning, development, coordination and execution of youth communication, planning and production of content for social media and the web, designing and implementing events, workshops, campaigns and school visits for youth, building partnerships with schools, universities, organizations and other partners, aligning national communication guidelines with the Northern Finland operating environment, and enhancing Metsähallitus’ visibility and understanding among youth. The candidate should be proactive, creative, have strong ideation abilities, and experience in youth-oriented communications, events or networks; able to plan and execute engaging youth events; produce content for multiple channels, especially social media; demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate large-scale projects with other communicators, experts and partners; show interest in nature, forests and societal influence; hold a suitable university degree; be willing to travel around Northern Finland; able to start by 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible; contract ends 31 December 2027. The role is multi-site with a national reach and an emphasis on building relationships with schools and youth organizations to grow youth-focused communications.
