The Mäntsälä library serves residents with a positive approach and flexibility, supported by the Kirkes library consortium. We offer opportunities to use your skills and interests across duties. Shifts and tasks are discussed and learning is encouraged. The municipal sports, culture and well-being benefits support wellbeing, along with a friendly and capable team. We seek a digitally proficient library assistant for a permanent role starting 1 October 2026. You will work at the main library, with occasional shifts at the library bus. The job includes evening work and daily customer service, information and guidance, and handling and logistics of materials; weekends may be possible. Your tasks include communications, online services and digital guidance, as well as creating video content and streams. You will assist staff with digital and device challenges and with learning new things. Material responsibility may include newspaper materials and/or games and objects. The team is tight-knit and relaxed; you will not have to resolve issues alone. Kirkes collaboration and municipal cooperation provide support and ideas. Be open to new ideas and experiments; interact naturally with customers of different ages; be flexible and proactive. We require experience in similar library tasks, a secondary-level library/information services degree, and good Finnish language skills. Salary and terms follow the municipal collective agreement. Working time is 36 h 15 min per week. Task-specific salary: 2486.93 EUR/month. Additional experience-based pay may be added. A six-month trial period applies.
