Early Childhood Teacher

We are seeking one early childhood education teacher for the under-3 group at Lystilä Daycare. Working hours vary on weekdays from 6:00 to 17:10. The team includes one other early childhood education teacher, one social pedagogue, and one nursery nurse. The daycare employs six ECE teachers, eight nursery nurses, and two social pedagogues, plus additional staff including a developmental support teacher for special needs, a developmental and learning support nursery assistant, and a separate substitute. There are fixed-term developmental educators scheduled (4 May 2026–31 Dec 2026 and 3 Aug–31 Dec 2026). Start date is negotiable. The ProVaka model (positively in a group-inspired approach) started at Lystilä in August 2024. Lystilä Daycare operates in a modern, functional, spacious building opened 17 years ago, with six child groups, some evening care slots, and flexible scheduling during summer/winter holidays. The location is near Jumbo shopping centre with good transport links and nearby playgrounds and nature areas. Vantaa pays a relocation grant of 1500 EUR for people moving from outside the municipality, after a six-month probation. Nearby municipalities are Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, Nurmijärvi, Tuusula, Kerava, Järvenpää, Sipoo and Kirkkonummi. The grant applies to permanent positions for early childhood teachers, special educators, and daycare directors. Employment details: Qualification required – ECE teacher (authorization under the ECA). It is advantageous to have kindergarten teaching credentials and good Finnish. Terms follow the Municipal Educational Staff collective agreement (OVTES). Salary: 3129.46–3234.53 EUR/month. For those with the required degree the monthly supplement is 15 EUR, and for a Master of Education 37.88 EUR/month. Experience-based allowance is 3–8%. Requirements: valid criminal background check; TB clearance for staff in contact with under-7s; job location 1; probation 6 months; full-time; contract type: permanent; weekly hours 38 h 15 min; evening and night shifts paid as cash allowances.
