We are looking for a Senior Android Automotive Audio Engineer to develop and optimize the audio subsystem for a customer’s In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform built on Android Automotive OS (AAOS). In this role, you will join an international automotive product-development project and work as part of a team developing a technically advanced IVI platform. WHAT YOU WILL DO Develop and optimize the audio subsystem for an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform built on Android Automotive OS (AAOS). Develop and integrate audio software across the Android audio framework, Audio HAL, and lower-level Linux audio layers. Work on AAOS-specific audio functionality, including audio routing, multi-zone audio, audio focus and ducking. Investigate and debug audio issues across different layers of the audio stack. Support integration and troubleshooting of audio functionality within the IVI platform.

Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize the audio subsystem for an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform built on Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
- Develop and integrate audio software across the Android audio framework, Audio HAL, and lower-level Linux audio layers
- Work on AAOS-specific audio functionality, including audio routing, multi-zone audio, audio focus and ducking
- Investigate and debug audio issues across different layers of the audio stack
- Support integration and troubleshooting of audio functionality within the IVI platform
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience working on audio software
- Strong experience with Android Audio Framework (AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager, AudioFlinger Mixer)
- Strong experience with Audio HAL development/integration (audio HAL v5/v7, or newer AIDL-based HAL)
- Proven experience with AAOS-specific audio components: Car Audio Manager, car_audio_configuration.xml, multi-zone audio, audio focus and ducking
- Proficient in C/C++ and Java/Kotlin
- Solid understanding of ALSA / tinyALSA, audio routing, and mixer controls (tinymix/tinyplay)
- Experience building and debugging within the AOSP source tree and build system (Soong/Make)
- Hands-on debugging skills using adb, logcat, systrace/Perfetto
- Experience with Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP/HFP) integration on Android
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel audio drivers (ASoC) and their interaction with user-space audio HAL
- Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
