Early childhood teacher

We are hiring an early childhood teacher for Havukallion day care center in Vantaa, starting 1 September 2026. Havukallio is located in a nature-rich, forested residential area with good transport connections. We view nature as an integral part of children’s learning environments and utilise the surrounding area in diverse ways. The daycare hosts five groups; the spaces have been renovated to enable collaboration with other staff to create functional and inspiring learning environments. Our philosophy centers on a warm, welcoming approach to each child, recognizing individual strengths and encouraging and praising progress. Our pedagogy emphasises emotional and social skills and language development. We aim for children to learn, explore, and succeed in a safe atmosphere. We support the pedagogy with a broad early childhood special education teacher and a developmental teacher, and we also utilise the ProVaka model. Our team is experienced and skilled, and we value teamwork, mutual support, and humor in daily work. We offer opportunities to mentor future professionals and participate in student teachers’ field days. We expect you to be sensitive, warm, collaborative, adaptable, and eager to develop high-quality pedagogy with the rest of the team. Proficiency in Finnish is required. The position is full-time with a six-month probation period and a permanent contract. The municipal collective agreement governs terms of service. A criminal background check is required, and tuberculosis screening for employees working with under-6s will be conducted. The recruitment process may include a video interview.
