Unit Manager

We are recruiting a unit manager for child welfare foster care in Jokioinen for a fixed-term position of about one year. The role includes responsibility for care and upbringing work, daily operations of the foster unit, and supervision. The manager oversees care and upbringing work, client relations, personnel and finances; plans and ensures staffing, competence and activity execution; acts as supervisor to the unit's supervisors; participates in service evaluation and development work; ensures the unit’s processes align with placement procedures and that documentation and reporting are timely and high-quality. The supervisor is responsible for front-line supervision and personnel planning including recruitment, orientation and performance management. Eight skilled team members report to you. The position requires AMK degree in social work and previous experience in child protection; prior leadership experience and neuropsychiatric expertise are advantageous. We seek a professional with independent work style, ability to organize and manage whole processes, and genuine interest in impactful child protection work and supportive leadership. We offer a key position where you can contribute your practical insight to unit operations and development. The job includes a competitive salary (3367.23–4040.68 EUR/month, depending on leadership and child protection experience), additional per-diem compensation for on-call leadership, and possible special allowances. The contract is fixed-term for about one year; work is on-site at the unit. The collective agreement is the Private Social Services Sector contract. A background check for working with children is required, as is a driving license category B and a professional license for social and health care.
