About the role

Red Hat Japan is establishing a new AI-driven development-based consulting practice to accelerate legacy modernization for Japanese companies. This role partners with Red Hat consultants and strategic partners to oversee the definition of technology standards, architecture, and advanced technical guidance within delivery. The mission is to integrate AI technologies into development and migration processes and to build and drive a “technical practice” that makes modernization dramatically more efficient. Responsibilities include defining and standardizing the technology practice and delivery standards, ensuring technical consistency during modernization from legacy systems (e.g., COBOL, Java) to modern cloud-native architectures and microservices; enabling and coaching partners and engineers through hands-on work, prototyping, and demos; planning training programs to apply AI trends to real projects; and monitoring delivery quality and progress, visualizing technical proficiency, and continually improving the practice based on field feedback.

Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Define and standardize the technology practice and delivery standards for AI-driven modernization
  • Ensure technical coherence during modernizations from legacy assets (COBOL, Java) to modern cloud-native architectures and microservices
  • Enable and coach Red Hat consultants and strategic partners' engineers through hands-on work, prototyping, and technical demonstrations
  • Plan training programs to apply the latest AI technology trends to real engagements
  • Governance and quality assurance of partner-delivered technical work; visualize and manage enablement progress through proficiency
  • Gather field feedback to continuously improve the practice from a technical perspective

Requirements

  • 20+ years in core system development with design and implementation of large-scale core systems
  • 5+ years in modernization, leading re-platforming, refactoring, and re-architecting with cloud migration expertise
  • 3+ years in AI-driven development, integrating AI into development processes, automation, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted code generation/testing
  • Deep understanding of Cloud Native and DevOps practices
  • Strong grasp of AI trends and enterprise deployment of generative AI/LLMs
  • Collaborative mindset to work with multiple consultants and partners
  • Customer-centric approach to translate technical solutions into business value
  • Willingness to share expertise and mentor team members
  • Growth mindset to continuously learn and transform oneself and the organization
