We are looking for a development-oriented early childhood education development teacher for our team, funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture's grant for educational equality and equity until the end of 2026. We are seeking an enthusiastic and bold early childhood education development teacher for Jönsaksen Day Care who wants to do meaningful work. In this role, you will plan, develop, and evaluate pedagogical activities in accordance with the early childhood education plan in cooperation with the day care director and educator teams. Your role is key in developing and ensuring the quality of the unit's pedagogy and operational culture within the children's groups. Our operational culture is developed based on impactful research evidence. Our unit utilizes the ProVaka operating model to support children's social skills. As an employee, you commit to acting according to the principles of the operating model together with the rest of the unit's staff. Jönsaksen Day Care is a 5-group facility, of which 2 groups focus on 1-3-year-olds and 3 groups primarily serve 3-5-year-olds. There are approximately 90 children and 15 educators in the entire day care. Our unit has a comprehensive special education teacher, and we have additional assistant staff according to the children's needs. Access to us is very good, as we are located in the center of Myyrmäki, right next to the train station. We go on many trips, and our yard has a kota (lean-to) that we utilize in our activities. Jönsaksen Day Care has a development-oriented and fresh atmosphere among the staff. Staff turnover is low. What makes this position special? In your role, you will co-develop learning environments, support educator teams, and participate in the unit's management team work. You will act as a promoter of an inclusive operational culture and strengthen the work community's expertise by utilizing diverse pedagogical methods while working together with the teams' staff. In the children's groups, you will develop practices to ensure children's well-being, equal learning, and participation. What expertise do you need to succeed in the role: - You master pedagogical methods of early childhood education and can apply them creatively and flexibly. - You are skilled in guiding the work community and developing pedagogy according to the early childhood education plan while listening to children and staff. - You have excellent cooperation and communication skills and enjoy multidisciplinary work. - Developing strength-based pedagogy, participation, and strengthening the child's self-esteem is important to you. Employment details Eligibility requirement: Early Childhood Education Teacher (eligibility for early childhood education teacher according to the Early Childhood Education Act) In addition to the eligibility requirement, we require: - good oral and written skills in Finnish - a good work ethic and genuine interest in early childhood education - ability to function seamlessly as a member of the work community and generally good interaction skills - flexibility Considered an advantage: A positive attitude toward life and a good sense of humor. Terms of employment are determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Municipal Teaching Staff (OVTES). Salary: 3129.71-3234 eur/month. An additional 15 eur/month is paid for a degree meeting the early childhood education teacher eligibility requirements, and 37.88 eur/month for a Master of Educational Sciences degree. A work experience supplement based on previous work experience is 3-8%. Required permits: The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract. A tuberculosis clearance for the respiratory system is checked for selected persons working with children under school age (Communicable Diseases Act § 55).
