We are seeking a nurse for a fixed-term position in mental health and substance abuse services for the period 28 September–28 December 2026. As a nurse you will be responsible for planning and executing care for patients directed to mental health and substance abuse services based on the assessment of care needs. Your duties also include administering medication and supporting the patient’s holistic care pathway. The role offers a diverse opportunity to use your professional skills broadly. The job includes independent outpatient work, implementation of short-term therapeutic interventions, various substance-use assessments, and methadone substitution treatment. You will also be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team and various collaboration networks. Work is performed in a community-based outpatient setting, but as needed also real-time telemedicine outpatient care and field visits. In the role you will meet patients according to their needs and do meaningful work in different operating environments. You will work in a capable and responsible multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a physician with addiction expertise and a ward nurse. Your immediate supervisor is the nurse in charge of the central region.

- Work on-site and, as needed, via real-time telehealth and field visits
- Collaborate with nurses, psychologist, psychiatrist, addiction physician and ward nurse; report to central region ward nurse
Requirements
- Experience in mental health and addiction work
- Willingness to meet patients professionally, respectfully and patient-centered
- Good independent decision-making
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility and development-minded approach
- Eligibility under the Health Care Professionals Act 559/1994 as a licensed nurse
- Proficiency in Finnish
