We are hiring a permanent early childhood education teacher for Havukallion day care starting 1 September 2026. Havukallion day care is located in a natural, forested residential area with good transport connections. Nature is an important part of children's learning environments, and we utilize the local surroundings in a varied way in our activities. The centre runs five groups of children; the facilities have just been renovated, so you will work in updated group rooms and, together with other staff, help build effective and inspiring learning environments. Our aim is to meet every child warmly, treat each child as an individual, notice strengths, and encourage and praise. Play is a central part of our activity, as well as child participation, interests and shared wonder. In our pedagogy, we emphasise supporting emotional and social skills and language development. We want every child to have the opportunity to learn, try, and succeed in a safe atmosphere. Our teaching pedagogy is supported by an inclusive team including a broad- based special education teacher and a developer-teacher. The unit also uses the ProVaka method (Positive group learning in early childhood education). You will be part of a capable work community where cooperation and mutual support are valued. The unit also serves as a field daycare for student teachers and you may mentor future professionals. What we expect from you: a sensitive and warm approach to children, good collaboration and teamwork skills, flexibility, a development mindset, and a desire to build high-quality pedagogy together with the rest of the staff. You should have strong Finnish language speaking and writing skills. If you are cooperative, open and enthusiastic about development and want to work for the benefit of children with a skilled team, you may be the colleague we are seeking. We process applications as they come in and start interviews during the application period. The position can be filled as soon as a suitable applicant is found, so please submit your application promptly. Why choose Vantaa?
