We are seeking a Head Nurse for Espoon sairaala Osasto 4 in a permanent position. Osasto 4 specializes in general internal medicine and infectious diseases care and rehabilitation. The ward also treats general geriatric patients requiring continued care and rehabilitation after specialized care. Osasto 4 has 45 beds organized into three subunits of 15 beds each. The work environment is a modern, pleasant, bright hospital opened in 2017. As Head Nurse you will develop hospital services with our skilled professionals and various stakeholders. You will work as a supervisor to your partner, the unit’s senior service manager, who acts as the frontline supervisor for the unit’s care and therapy staff. Together with the service manager you are responsible for the unit’s daily leadership. The care and therapy staff in Osasto 4 totals 45 personnel. Your responsibilities include development of staff competencies and patient safety, ensuring the unit’s operations meet quality and financial targets and developing services in collaboration with a multiprofessional team, your leadership peer and the unit’s senior physician. You should be able to see broader patient contexts, handle detailed planning and execution tasks, and manage complex projects. The workplace is Espoon sairaala, Karvasmäentie 6, 02740 Espoo. Working hours are standard 38 h 15 min/week. The position is permanent. Start date 5.10.2026 or by agreement. Interviews planned weeks 36–37 on-site. Eligibility: relevant university degree, or advanced degree, or prior ward head qualification with leadership studies, and license to practice as a health care professional (Act 559/1994). Vaccination protection required under Infectious Diseases Act and TB screening under Infectious Diseases Act. A criminal background check is required by law and random drug testing may be requested.
