Chief Physician

Lapin hyvinvointialue seeks a Chief Physician for the Tunturi-Lappi region for a permanent position. The Chief Physician will be responsible for medical duties across units in Kittilä, Kolari, and Muonio-Enontekiö, and will supervise regional physicians alongside the unit director and lead nurse. Administrative duties account for about half of the workload; the rest involves broad general medical duties in primary care, geriatric, and home care settings. A license to practice medicine under the Finnish Health Care Professionals Act (559/1994) and specialist qualifications in the applicable field are required; experience in leadership/administration is advantageous. Salary and terms follow the Medical Agreement. A 6-month probation applies. Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written) is required; vaccination compliance follows public health requirements.
