Physician for child and adolescent basic mental health and substance use services

A part-time physician is sought for child and adolescent basic mental health and substance abuse services in Kuopio. The position is fixed-term for six months with potential for extension as the development of child and adolescent services progresses. You will work in a multidisciplinary team mainly with youths. Your duties include diagnostic and pharmacological assessments at the primary care level, planning treatment goals, and evaluating patients’ need for care. When necessary you will guide patients to specialized care. Working hours are 50–70%, with flexible scheduling aligned to objectives. The role allows partial remote work. Salary for full-time is 4722.94–6528.92 EUR/month. Salary is governed by the physician contract (LS) as a salary scale, with possible role allowances (e.g., psychiatry domain allowances). In addition, a 3% or 8% seniority allowance applies based on 5 or 10 years of experience. Qualification required is registration under the Health Care Professionals Act (559/1994) with the right to practice and registration in the Social and Health Care Professionals Register maintained by the Permit and Supervision Authority. Also required is familiarity with youth primary health care mental health work. Additional notes: random drug testing may be requested for Pohjois-Savo wellbeing region employees when appointed to a post. We follow the Infectious Disease Act and recommend vaccination protection for all staff working with clients/patients. The six-month fixed-term period starts on 1 Oct 2026 or by agreement.
