Test Engineer

Etteplan is an international engineering and technology company that helps customers develop advanced solutions in engineering and software across industries such as industrial, energy, and security. The role sits on a team working on a large software system with high security requirements. The system is complex with many dependencies and contains backend functionality developed in Java. Testing will involve more than checking a single feature, including understanding how different parts of the system connect, identifying risks, and ensuring quality from a broader perspective. You will work with both manual testing and test automation at various levels, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing. There is an increasing focus on automation and CI/CD, so you will help develop and improve the way we test throughout the development process. You will collaborate closely with software developers, system engineers, other testers, and technical specialists. An important part of the job is to understand the system, ask the right questions, identify risks, and determine how best to test a solution. Some problems are best solved with automation; others require analysis, curiosity, or good manual testing. The role requires a curious mindset and a willingness to understand how the system actually works. You will contribute to better testability, stability, and overall software quality, support CI/CD, and maintain relevant test documentation. Proficient English is expected, and on-site work in the Copenhagen region is required. Knowledge of security clearance processes may be necessary for the project. The team emphasizes knowledge sharing and collaboration. Nice-to-have experience includes working in high-security environments, large or complex systems in operation and development over time, Java test automation, CI/CD, ISTQB/ TMAP or other certifications, Agile/Scrum experience, regulated or security-critical industries, and Danish language skills.
