Early Childhood Education Assistant

We are seeking a substitute childcare assistant for a fixed-term position at Lakela Kindergarten in the southern service area of Espoo center. As a floating substitute in early childhood education, you will experience various kindergartens in our area and can focus on being present for the children. Your home kindergarten will be Lakela Kindergarten, but you must be ready to substitute in other kindergartens in our area. You will act as a substitute for sudden absences in groups of children of different ages. You are always a welcome and expected professional in our kindergartens. We value versatile expertise, and various types of work experience are beneficial in this role. The position requires good teamwork skills and flexibility in changing situations. Workplace name and address: Lakela Kindergarten, Vanha Lagstadintie 8, 02770 Espoo Working hours: 38 h 15 min/week The position is fixed-term from 17.8.2026 to 31.5.2027 We will consider all applications received during the application period. We may process applications and start interviews during the application period. Selection will be made after the application period ends and interviews have been completed. Eligibility requirement: Eligibility according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018, Section 28, Decree 753/2018 Sections 3 and 4). A suitable vocational qualification in education and guidance, a vocational qualification in social and health care, or another equivalent degree that includes or has been supplemented with sufficiently extensive modules in childcare, education, and teaching. E.g., childcare assistant, daycare teacher, and practical nurse (child and youth care and education program). The selected person must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act. The Communicable Diseases Act requires the clarification of tuberculosis infection risk for those working with children under school age.
