About the role

Are you interested in working with postpartum women and newborns? Is baby-friendliness close to your heart, and are you motivated by guiding families from recovery after childbirth to breastfeeding and baby care? We are seeking a midwife for a permanent position at the Women's Clinic Family Nest Hotel (Scandic Meilahti). The Family Nest Hotel provides care for postpartum women and newborns. Midwives have the opportunity to train for home midwife activities and for postpartum care at the postpartum clinic. The position includes a rotation to the Women's Clinic Postpartum Ward 61. Good guidance, cooperation, and interaction skills will support you in your work. We operate according to the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Our work is guided by family-centeredness and customer-orientation. The work is a three-shift system. You will receive a good and comprehensive orientation for your role. You will work as part of a great team where everyone has an important role. Additionally, you have the opportunity to train for home midwife activities and for postpartum care at the postpartum clinic. Work begins on 05.10.2026 or by agreement. The position is subject to a probationary period in accordance with the SOTE agreement. Information about your future workplace The Women's Clinic is Finland's largest maternity hospital, where over 8,500 children are born annually. The Family Nest Hotel cares for pregnant women, as well as mothers, newborns, and families after childbirth. The Family Nest Hotel has 19 family rooms for postpartum women. Eligibility requirements Authorized midwife or authorized registered nurse with a specialist nursing degree in maternity care and gynecology. Language requirements: good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish, or good oral and written skills in Swedish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish. We require vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in customer and patient areas, and a health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units.
