Taxi driver position offering evening and night shifts in the Turku area, Turku region and neighboring municipalities. The work is done independently and can serve as a part-time job, side gig, or studies companion. A typical shift may extend beyond the city area to locations like Parainen or Aura. Most trips originate from the taxi dispatch center; some are pre-booked. Some regular customers order by calling the car or sending a message; occasionally a customer may board directly from a taxi stand or street. Compensation is commission-based: 40% of the cash takings from daytime rides plus tips left by customers for your shifts. Working hours allow driving on weekdays between 18:00 and 06:00 and on weekends between 18:00 and 06:00. Requirements include a valid Finnish driving license category B, a valid taxi driver's permit, a smartphone and proficiency in its use, fluent Finnish (spoken and written), ability to work independently with diverse customers, resilience to high order volume, adherence to schedules and radio-center orders, courteousness, neatness and accuracy, a non-smoking driver who does not use nicotine pouches, and compliance with traffic rules. Helpful experiences include prior taxi driving, urban driving in rush hours with tight city streets, strong local knowledge and map-reading skills, social skills for solo work, ability to converse with customers of different ages and types, and proficiency in English and Swedish. A neat appearance and professional presentation are expected.
