Dairy Production Advisor

Would you like to help develop Finnish milk production and support the success of milk producers? As the current production advisor retires, we are looking for a skilled and collaborative dairy production advisor to serve as an important link between producers, stakeholders and our organisation. Your role As a production advisor, you will be responsible for advising milk producers and maintaining contact with them, as well as coordinating matters related to milk quality, collection and producer services. Your goal is to support farms’ operating conditions, ensure the high quality of the milk received and smooth collection, and promote cooperation between producers and key stakeholders. Customer service is a prominent part of the role. Farm advice and producer cooperation You will manage membership matters and advise milk producers. You will monitor the quality and volume of milk and guide producers on related questions. Your work will also include planning and organising producer events, meetings and training. In addition, you will maintain active contact with producers, listen to their needs and pass on feedback and development proposals. Stakeholder cooperation You will work closely with key sector organisations, particularly on animal welfare, disease prevention and farm development. You will cooperate with ETT, MTK and other expert organisations. You will also participate in preparing and advancing projects that support producers’ management and financial skills. Coordinating milk collection You will coordinate practical milk collection and plan collection routes, considering operational efficiency, farms’ needs and cost-effectiveness. You will ensure sample transport schedules meet quality requirements, prepare sampling plans and monitor their implementation. You will also handle complaints related to milk collection and coordinate necessary corrective measures. Supervisory and organisational duties The role includes supervisory responsibility for the EL-MA store and coordination of practical personnel arrangements. You will be responsible for shift planning, holiday arrangements and organising cover. You will also contribute to developing the commercial and customer-oriented aspects of the operations. What we expect from you We hope you understand milk production, milk quality and the agricultural operating environment, and have good communication, negotiation and cooperation skills. You will succeed if you work systematically, proactively and in a solution-oriented way, and can manage several areas at once even in changing circumstances. We value readiness for supervisory duties, a business-minded approach and customer focus. Relevant education, such as an agrologist qualification or other agricultural education, will support your success.
