
Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer — On-Site. We are currently supporting a requirement for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support multiple digester projects across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to join and play a key role in the commissioning and testing of critical wastewater infrastructure. Role Details: Job Title: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer Location: Leeds / Sites Across Yorkshire Duration: 6-8 Months (with further scope of works) Start Date: ASAP Onsite Requirement: 5 days per week onsite and travelling across Yorkshire Required: Full UK Driving License Rate of pay: £375 per day - £425 per day Key Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical commissioning activities across Yorkshire Water wastewater and sludge treatment facilities. Lead and supervise pressure testing and hydrotesting activities on mechanical process systems and pipework. Commission digesters, anaerobic digestion plants and associated mechanical equipment. Produce and maintain commissioning documentation, test records and handover packs. Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives throughout commissioning activities. Support pre-commissioning, system validation, testing and final handover activities. Identify and resolve mechanical commissioning issues to ensure systems are delivered safely and efficiently. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements. Provide regular commissioning updates and progress reports to project management teams. Support achievement of programme milestones across multiple sites throughout Yorkshire. Required/Advantageous Experience: Proven experience working as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer within the water or wastewater sector. Strong background in pressure testing, hydrotesting and mechanical system commissioning. Experience commissioning digesters, anaerobic digestion plants or sludge treatment facilities. Good understanding of mechanical process systems, pumps, valves, pipework and associated plant. Experience working on Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities or similar water utility projects would be advantageous. Ability to manage commissioning documentation and test procedures.
