We are looking for an Expert, Instrumentation & Control (Project Design) to join Fortum’s Engineering & Projects team in Espoo, Finland. The role involves bringing I&C expertise to Nuclear Services projects, with focus on NPP I&C Modernization and New Build projects for domestic and international clients. Responsibilities include planning and executing I&C projects, identifying client needs, creating service and deliverable packages, determining technical specifications, analyzing and reviewing I&C design concepts, and participating in project meetings in Finland or abroad. The position supports safe and efficient operations of nuclear power plants and development of new nuclear and nuclear R&D activities. The candidate should have an upper-level degree in automation engineering or a related field, excellent English, willingness to travel within Finland and Europe, and a proven track record as an expert in the nuclear field. Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of I&C projects for Nuclear Services clients
- Focus on NPP I&C Modernization and New Build projects
- Identify client needs and develop service/deliverable packages
- Determine technical specifications and review I&C design concepts
- Participate in project meetings in Finland or abroad as I&C Expert
- Team in Espoo-based I&C Project Design within E&P
- Travel within Finland and Europe as needed
Requirements
- Proven track record as an expert in the nuclear field
- Experience from other power plant engineering, industrial or safety-critical environments is a plus
- Analytical thinker with ability to focus on design details
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to travel within Finland and Europe
- Upper-level degree in automation engineering or related field
