Freelance Commissioning Engineer · On-Site

We are currently supporting a large-scale project in Germany and am looking to speak with experienced Freelance Commissioning Engineers with a strong electrical and site commissioning background. The main requirement is in Germany, although we are also working on a number of similar projects across the Netherlands and Austria, so there may be several options depending on your availability and location. The role will involve commissioning electrical systems through testing, energisation and handover, working closely with site teams, contractors and project management. Key responsibilities include: Commissioning and testing of HV / MV / LV electrical systems; Switchgear, transformers and associated electrical equipment; FAT, SAT and functional testing; Energisation and start-up activities; Fault finding and technical troubleshooting; Reviewing commissioning procedures, test documentation and punch lists; Supporting site acceptance and final handover; Working alongside electrical, controls, SCADA and protection teams; Ensuring commissioning activities are completed safely and in line with project requirements. We are particularly interested in engineers coming from large-scale power and infrastructure environments, including: Power generation and substations; Renewables and grid connection; BESS / energy storage; Data centres; Refinery / petrochemical; Heavy industrial projects. You should have previous hands-on commissioning experience and be comfortable working on site in an international project environment.
